Sophie

Sophie is an experienced paediatric occupational therapist with a special interest in working with children and young adults on improving their occupational performance through play and client led therapy. Sophie uses a sensory lens in her therapy sessions to help improve children’s skills and achieve their goals sooner. Sophie also uses family centred practice to work collaboratively with the whole family to help children achieve their goals.

Sophie can help your child improve their fine and gross motor coordination and strength. She can also assist with improving emotional regulation, play and social skills while building skills in all activities of daily living.

Sophie will work with you and your family as a mobile practitioner in your home, school or in the community to support your child to achieve your goals in their own environment.

Mental health and emotional regulation

We can help you to better understanding emotions, build empathy, use sensory tools to support emotional regulation and build your window of tolerance.

Self-care skills

We can help you build your motor and planning skills to be more independent in feeding yourself, dressing yourself and build toileting skills.

Social and play skills

We can help your child build their social skills to better engage in the world around them and build meaningful relationships with their friends and family. We can also support your child to build their motor skills, so they are able to play games with their peers.

School readiness

We can support your child to grow their skills in areas such as fine motor skills, including handwriting and using scissors, social skills and play skills to be able to interact with their peers and build friendships and gross motor skills so they can play with their peers and participate in games.

Executive functioning skills

We can assist you to build skills and adapt your environment so you are able to better sustain attention, plan and sequence tasks so you can participate in activities of daily living.

Functional capacity assessments

Our occupational therapist can conduct functional capacity assessments and write reports to help you to get the support you need.
